Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT)

At Canberra Podiatry we employ the latest technology to assist your needs. ESWT is the application of a high-energy acoustic pulse that is transferred from the machine to your skin. It works by increasing the activity around the site of your pain or discomfort.

This will stimulate your body’s healing process and help to reduce your pain. We generally use ESWT that is applied for 3 treatment sessions with each one approximately one week apart.

Approximately 80% of all patients report a substantial improvement after the second treatment. At Canberra Podiatry we use ESWT for a wide range of conditions such as:

Plantar fasciitis/fasciosis
Patellofemoral pain
